Two 15-ton Electric Mooring Winches for the NAVY BLUE Pontoon
Context & challenge
To upgrade its service pontoon NAVY BLUE, ETPO required two high-capacity winches capable of handling heavy barge positioning. The challenge was to achieve 15-ton pulling capacity with long-line capability and synchronized operation.
Solution & execution
ILC engineered two symmetric electric winches, each designed to handle 500 m of ø 26 mm wire rope. Both units feature stainless-steel control cabinets, a band brake and an automatic spooling device for optimal cable management.
Key technical challenges
- Dual-winch synchronization for precise positioning.
- High-torque operation in harsh marine environments.
- Adaptation to existing structures requiring bespoke mechanical interfaces.
