First Lifting Winches Tested and Shipped – Louis Dreyfus Armateurs Cable-Laying Vessels

Context & challenge

Once manufacturing was complete, the priority was to validate operational reliability under load before the winches reached the vessel. No on-board adjustments were acceptable.

Solution & execution

The first three winches successfully passed bench tests confirming:

• nominal load performance,
• stable variable-speed operation,
• accurate end-limit calibration.

The winches were then prepared for maritime transport and dispatched to the shipyard.

• Dynamic testing simulating offshore constraints.
• Fine-tuned low-speed and high-speed behavior.
• Anti-corrosion packaging for sea transport.
