Complete Engineering & Manufacturing: 6 Lifting Winches for LDA Cable-Laying Vessels
Context & challenge
LDA commissioned ILC for full engineering, manufacturing and testing of six custom winches for critical offshore lifting operations. Varying configurations required a tailored approach.
Solution & execution
The scope includes:
- 2 stainless-steel IP66 centralized control cabinets with VFD, wired or radio operation.
- 4 marine winches 10 T (twist-lock mounting, angle gearbox, variable speed).
- 2 marine winches 10 T (radio control, angle gearbox, variable speed).
All components were designed for heavy-duty corrosion resistance and repeated offshore loading cycles.
Key technical challenges
- Full engineering scope: electrical, mechanical, automation.
- Long-term offshore protection (C5-M compliant where required).
- Integration with existing deck systems.

-2 marine winches of 10 tonnes lifting with variable speed, radio control and right-angle drive for the gearbox
